‘Wednesday 14th June Kids Out day was the the best one yet’. That was the view of many after a sun drenched day at the Cotswold Wildlife Park.
Groups from Robert LE Kyng School (above) and St Andrews Inter Active Arts Group (below) organised by the Rotary Club of Swindon Old Town could not have had a better day in terms of weather to enjoy the many animals and birds at the Cotswold Wildlife Park and the beautiful surroundings in which they are housed.
It was great to see that many other Rotary Clubs had chosen the Park for their Kids Out Day visit.
Dick Mattick agreed there were four reasons why it was the best one yet.
1) The weather was perfect.
2). We had enough helpers for all the children to feel they were guests of Rotary
3) The excellent lunches provided by the ladies of the Goddard Park Canteen
4). Last but not least help from the Swindon Rotary Club who were very impressed and are going to join up and bring a group from Brimble Hill next year.
The one disappointment was the absence of Westlea due to a lack of suitable transport. However Old Town living up to our motto “never wrong for long” will make it possible to for Westlea will get their day out next month.
People of Swindon and its surrounding areas such visits would not be possible without your generosity in supporting events like Swindon’s Famous Duck Race.
